A Chemical peel, also known as chemoexfoliation, is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin. In this treatment, a chemical solution penetrates the skin to varying depths and will usually produce superficial peeling of the skin. The amount of peeling depends on the strength of the peel and the condition of the skin. For optimal results, it is best if done in a series of treatments every 4-6 weeks. Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation that uses a powerful device to spray microcrystals of aluminum dioxide across the skin's surface. The crystals are a very fine, hard, sand like material that removes the uppermost layer of dead skin cells on the skin's epidermis. Microdermabrasion is sometimes followed by a chemical or enzyme peel depending on skin condition. For optimal results, it is best if done in a series of treatments every 4-6 weeks. Dermalplaning is a skin resurfacing procedure that uses a special surgical blade to gently scrape away the top layer of dead epidermal cells. Dermalplaning can be used on small areas of the skin or on the entire face and also removes the “peach fuzz” which traps excess dirt and oil. It is a non-invasive procedure that requires no down time and leaves the skin with a smoother appearance. Dermalplaning is sometimes followed by a chemical or enzyme peel depending on skin condition. Facials are used for cleansing the skin and removing dead skin cells, blackheads, and impurities from the skin that can make the skin appear dull and can cause acne. It is a relaxing cosmetic treatment that also provides desired results. Facials include cleansing, toning, exfoliating with steam, extraction of impurities, massage and mask. Facials are customized for the individual needs of the client and can be done on the back and chest as well. Ideally, facials are recommended on a monthly basis as our skin cells regenerate every 21-28 days.

Milia are common non-cancerous cysts found in people of all ages. They are formed when skin does not slough off normally, but instead remains trapped in a pocket on the surface of the skin. There are several factors that lead to the development of Milia, but heavy cosmetics and sun damage are largely to blame.

Milia extractions are usually performed in conjunction with a facial. Once the milia are removed, home care is essential in keeping the skin clear. Products containing Glycolic acid and Retin A are recommended to help prevent the formation of additional milia once they have been extracted.
